Joutsan Joutopäivät 5.-6.7.2025
The traditional Joutsa Joutopäivät will be held again next summer, on July 5–6, 2025. The program includes, among other things, a themed rural market and the music-filled Evening at the Open-Air Museum event, which traditionally draws a large audience to enjoy great performances and summer encounters. This year, the headline performer for Joutopäivät is Jannika B, and the rural market theme celebrates the sahti brewing tradition.
Talomuseo
In the museum’s yard, visitors can immerse themselves in rural life as it was centuries ago. The buildings, ranging from the main house to the windmill, mostly date from the 19th century, with the oldest storehouse originating from the early 18th century. The museum area also features a covered hillside stage/bleacher building, which hosts a variety of cultural events, from summer theater to the traditional Joutsa Joutopäivät festival. The museum is open in the summer and is maintained and rented out by the Joutsa Local Heritage Association.

Letkaliiteri
The atmospheric dance barn, Letkaliiteri, and the adjacent Letkakahvio café form the vibrant heart of Rutalahti village during the summer. Originally built as a threshing barn for the Jussila farm in 1949, Letkaliiteri has hosted dances since the 1950s. The dance season opens on Midsummer’s Eve and continues through August. Letkakahvio serves visitors from Midsummer until early August, including boaters from the nearby harbor. Throughout the summer, Letkaliiteri also hosts a variety of events, from flea market days to movie nights.
